Reiki I

This all-day class meditatively attunes you to the Reiki energies. It covers Reiki history and how Reiki supplies energy to each of the body's organ systems and chakras. You learn how to perform a Reiki session on yourself, on another person, and on plants and animals. You learn how to provide Reiki in cases of emergency and for long-standing issues and how to feel better "after" giving a Reiki treatment than before. Investment: $150.

Next class Sunday December 3. Or call to establish a date for your Reiki I which is mutually convenient.

If you and a friend take Reiki I or II together (same class), you may be eligible for a $25 discount on the class fee. .

Reiki II

This all-day class expands Reiki energies and knowledge for those who are committed to service. You will receive additional meditative attunements to increase the amount of channeling power in the healing process, to support the healing of mental and emotional problems, and to provide for healing at a distance. Investment $225.

Classes are small so individual needs can be taken into account.

Next class Saturday or Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend, 2006. Or call to establish a date for your Reiki II which is mutually convenient.

Reiki III, Reiki Master Practitioner.

This two-day class (or the equivalent over weeks or months) provides meditative attunements to strengthen your Reiki energies and to begin to open you to transmitting Reiki attunements to others. Together, we set goals to prepare you for Reiki Mastery and establish the opportunity to participate in Reiki 1 and Reiki II workshops to develop your skills as teacher. Prior to embarking on this course together, we speak together to decide whether we are the right fit to undertake this process together. Investment: $750.

Reiki IV, Reiki Master Teacher.

This class provides meditative attunements to further strengthen your Reiki energies and to open you to transmitting Reiki attunements to others. Together, we review goals that have been set to prepare you for Reiki Mastery, provide further opportunities to participate in Reiki 1 and Reiki II workshops, and you demonstrate competence to perform the appropriate attunements on others. This class is by special arrangement, need, and readiness of the prospective student. Investment: $600 if you have taken Reiki III with Anne Marie Gabrielle.

Energy Coaching and Goal Setting

Many people these days want to claim and live out of their full potentials. They either have a longing for "something more" in life and they don't know what that is. Or they have an idea what it is, but they continually seem blocked in reaching it. Energy coaching and goal setting can be helpful in moving through the blocks and habituations which hamper movement into the future.

When integrated with energy healing or Reiki, energy coaching helps a person become more attuned to their own subtle energies and behaviors, while receiving an energetic template to help them accomplish their goals.

When integrated with Brain Gym or Educational Kinesiology, the goal setting process uses kinesiology and movement to help people uncover and "move past" behaviors which contribute to stuckness.

Coaching and goal setting can range from the practical and spiritual (such as learning how to ground or meditate) to a conventional spiritual direction to guidance and support in resolving deeper life issues and to finding the right movement exercises to help you "move" through the blocks that are holding you back.

Journaling

Did you know that writing about your life experiences for 20 minutes a day can improve your immune system? That is from the Journal of the Medical Association (April 14, 1999). The March 1981 issue of Psychology Today said that journaling is therapeutic.

A journaling class can help you get motivated and help you continue journaling once you begin. Journaling classes teach ways to use your journal for physical healing as well as for spiritual reflection, healing, and integration. They teach you how to get out of your head and into your heart, with fun and support of your class community.

About the Class: Physicists now say what ancient seers knew long ago. We are actually bundles of vibrating energy. Our vibrations are affected by our genes, our thoughts, and our responses to the events of our daily lives. Whether we are consciously aware of it or not, everything that happens to us registers in and through the chakra system. Chakras determine how we take in energy from the world, how we process and respond to our experiences, and how we create our own reality.

There are seven major chakras within each of us. In this overview class, you will learn about the major chakras both cognitively and experientially, including their role in impacting our physical health and mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. At the end of class, our "afternoon delight" will be to learn and experience a process to bring our chakras into balance and reawaken our birthright so necessary for wholeness and healing: the harmony and love within.


While there are no immediate plans to teach the other chakras, I'm including the class description from the last time I taught them as I feel it will be of interest to some people.

Foundation of Power--The Root Chakra

About the Class: Your root chakra contains your power to be healthy, to achieve what you desire, to risk the new, and to grow. If you have health issues, feel unsafe in the world, don't always want to be here, can't manifest your potential, or are troubled with addictions, you most likely have problems in the root. In this cognitive and experiential class, you will learn about the root chakra, what supports and hurts it, and you will experience processes to support your own root chakra.

This is the second in a series of eight classes on the chakra system. You will benefit from one or all of these classes. The 7 chakras were discovered by ancient yogis, who considered them energy centers both influencing and influenced by how we respond to the world around us. Whether you've learned about all the chakras before or have only recently heard of them, these classes can give you a deeper understanding of your own unique energy system and provide you with the tools you need to make positive changes and create the reality you most desire.

Money, Relationships, and Power--The Second Chakra.

Class Description: Your second chakra contains your power to feel and have pleasure, to create healthy boundaries, and to go with the flow. It is all about you--and your ability to manifest money, healthy relationships, and healthy change. It provides the emotional power for the root chakra to help you obtain what you desire, to risk the new, and to grow. If you would like to improve your ability to attract and maintain money, healthy relationships, and your vital power to obtain what you desire, you will want to improve your second chakra. In this cognitive and experiential class, you will learn about the second chakra and what supports and hurts it, and you'll experience processes to support your own second chakra.

This is the third in a series of eight planned classes on the chakra system. You will benefit from one or all of these classes.

Transforming Mandalas: Accessing the Artist and the Healer Within

This class has a couple of purposes. It helps you to access your inner artist (even if you don't think you have one) because it teaches you to create luminous mandalas.

What are mandalas? They are sacred circles! We see them all around us: the earth, our solar system, our Milky Way galaxy are some of the mandalas which surround us and inform our lives.

Carl Jung, the famous psychoanalyst, was the first Westerner to popularize mandalas. He saw them as messages from the unconscious, and he used them to gain insight into himself and his patients. During his studies of mandalas, he learned that Tibetan Buddhists and Navajo medicine people used mandalas for healing of individuals and groups.

By creating mandalas, you can assist yourself heal at deeper and practical levels. Mandalas have been used to express intentions, support physical healing, even to overcome phobias. In this class you will have an opportunity to create several mandalas for healing, including one for healing our earth, one for expressing your Self and releasing things that hold you back, a heart centered mandala, and a mandala for your future.

Dates and Investment: A free 1 1/2 hour class is being offered at the Bowie Borders on Monday, June 5. This class is entitled: "Mandalas: The Power of the Sacred Circle."

The next Transforming Mandalas class is being offered Saturday, June 17, 2006 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Bowie or Crofton, MD, depending on class size.

Cost is $65 plus $11 pencils and supplies fee. (You keep the pencils.) Repeat fee is $44; use your own pencils.

Medicine Wheel Mandalas

During the Medicine Wheel Mandalas class, we will explore the medicine wheel and the meaning of different directions and elements within the wheel. Students will intuitively select a position on the medicine wheel which has the most relevance for them right now. One of their mandalas will relate to the wisdom of that position in order to promote the most possible balance in their lives.

Like the other Mandala class, you do not need prior experience for this class. You will learn more colored pencils technique in the Transforming Mandalas Class. You will learn more about the medicine wheel in the medicine wheel mandalas class.

Dates and Investment: This class is being offered Sunday, September 17, 2006, 1-8. Cost: $65 plus $11 pencils and supplies fee. (You keep the pencils)

Drum Making

A drum can be a sacred being which you help create through your intentions, labor and creativity. It can help provide a deeper experience of and connection to Spirit. Or it can be "just a drum". Making your own drum can be fun as well as provide a rich spiritual experience! During this weekend workshop, we will birth rim drums through our prayer, meditative journeys, patience, and physical labor. Every part of every drum will have been gathered in a traditional Native American way with attention to the sacred at every step. During our weekend, we will continue that process of honoring the sacred, creating a gift for yourself which you will treasure for many years.
